The Atari Microbox was never released. We have had this as well as many other prototypes in our possesion for many years.
The Atari Falcon030 was released in 1992, this was an upgrade to the ST Line of computer and proved to be the final personal computer from Atari Corporation. Before the Falcon was the Sparrow (Prototype). Atari attempted to produce a smaller version of the Falcon (Microbox). It had numerous improvements however it was not be.
The Microbox used most of the Falcon chipset which included the Motorola 68030 microprocessor running at 16MHz, Motorola 56001 DSP chip at 32 MHz, SDMA and Yamaha Sound chip. The COMBEL was updated and the Videl (were not sure) could be the same although our unit has a Prototype.
We have never made this computer functional although we intend to. We will update this page when we have additional information.
